I grew up without virtually any dental care because my mom didn't think it was necessary or important. I have periodontal disease already because of it. I've seen reports of this "mask mouth" before and I count my gum disease as one reason why I can't wear a mask. I won't hasten the loss of my teeth.

Teeth health is largely related to genetics and diet. There are people who can never brush their teeth and they are fine minus some yellowing, rather than the inhumanly white we value today.

Some people can maintain a sugar free diet, brush their teeth three times a day, floss, and still end up losing teeth due to tooth decay.

I was in NYC for my failing small business last month & had to walk into a bunch of offices over the course of 3 hours on a super hot, 85° day.

For two weeks afterwards I had a weird flutter in the back of my throat and my gums felt itchy. I swear it’s from breathing through a sweaty ass mask.
