Doubt they could come up with anything more cruel that I could on my own TBH...

For the longest time I've had this idea for the most painful and absurd medieval style execution method I could think of.

I came up with something I call "death by short droppings".

In this method the condemned is shackled into a harness that's connected to a computer controlled wench on the ceiling. The wench also has a quick release mechanism to drop the person without detaching from them.

The condemned is wenched 3 feet in the air and the quick release mechanism is triggered dropping them to the ground, putting minor stress on their ankles.

But of course they are shackeled into this harness and can't go anywhere, And as soon as one drop finishes, it just immediately begins wenching them back up for another, and another, and another.

And so on until the condemned is stress tested into a screaming torso with a gelatinous blob of red jello for a lower half.

It also has modifiers that can be applied to either show mercy or extra cruelty. For example with "merciful short droppings" the condemned would be wenched up by their feet, and have the top of their head stress tested on concrete.

But on the other hand if you want "extra cruel short droppings" you can throw a shag carpet under the victim being dropped on their feet. That oughtta extend their ordeal a few thousand cycles at the very least....
