Cats that are kept indoors get depressed, get fat and turn into assholes. I believe that's where the stereotype comes from. Cats that are allowed outdoor time to do whatever are happy fun cats.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing. I'm closer now to adopting as I assume less hands-on and I just won't be able to invest as much time as a dog requires....yet. But It's my goal. I also feel if I adopted a kitty and in the future a dog and trained her to be nice to the kitty, I'd be in heaven.
Another thing, if you get a kitten. Do not handle them against their will too much or they will grow up to hate hands. Also do not let them get used to scratching you when they play or they may grow up thinking its ok to scratch you. Oh and don't hit them. Hissing by pulling air through your teeth works pretty well to make them stop doing something wrong.
