Perhaps as a commentary on our culture. It wasn't long ago that no civilized adult would have dreamed of carrying around pictures of their (or anyone's aroused genitals). Now most of the country thinks it's "normal" for people to be taking and sending intimate sexual photos, at least with their current partner(s). Remember the middle school teacher a couple of years ago, who let a boy in her class borrow her phone, and he found a bunch of sexual pictures of her.
