I know what they are. New guys don't build around microbest BCG's with FN barrels. But nobody will ever convince me that a properly gassed 556 with the correct buffer weight needs anything more than a bird cage or linear comp.
It IS a bird cage combined with a comp! It's worth it!! I built my own AR lower with a PWS Mk. 114 upper chambered in .223 Wylde and with my buffer spring (the Geissele super 42) combined with the patented PWS buffer tube, it literally kicks like a gas blowback airsoft gun lol! It's ridiculous in the best of ways! Double and triple taps are effortless!
My 6.8 with a arperformance barrel, rifle buffer, Black River tactical covert comp, ($80) and Black River tactical tuned gas block ($55) kicks like an airsoft. Over priced muzzle devices are not required to minimize recoil and muzzle movement. I could take the $80 comp off and screw on a thread protector with zero issues.
Over priced muzzle devices are the new way to dip into our pockets. Like anti rotation pins for those poorly designed drop in triggers. I'm not saying you own one because it looks cool. But mostly justifications about new must have products are simply selling ones self on why that extra money should be spent.
I say this as someone who doesn't spare expenses on rifle builds.
Is that a bird cage or a duck bill?
It's a bird cage style with a twist! Ever see a SCAR's muzzle device? This is it! It's great! https://www.primaryweapons.com/product-url-5234
