I’m pretty sure this was what the deal entailed. They have to divest their US operations, which didn’t mean selling the company outright.

As long as the data doesn’t leave our borders, and China only collects the revenue, then there won’t be much difference between that and being sold, except China just gets more of our money.

I’d prefer they own it outright myself, but I don’t think that’s in the cards. We’ll find out soon if this deal works or not.
