I'm just trying to put together what all is being talked about here though. We're worried about the left pushing their moral decline too hard? And that leading to circumstances in our own country where humans with human fears see their country leaving them behind, and turning toward a leader who promises resolution... where and how, and from what sources exactly?
The American neo nazi movement did us a favor by spelling it out. Plenty of them have come out and said so directly: they don't care about statues, free speech or moral decay. They use those as jumping off points for scared people to be lead down their rabbit hole.
It's a simple effective tactic used by the last nazis too. The first book burning in the weimar was for tomes relating to the sexualizing and transgender transition in children.
The later ones were with things like cultural works, works of ideological opponents, and others were the real targets of the nazis but they needed people to get invested in the movement first.
It's a manipulative tactic that comes about with a moral and leadership vacume. If the Republicans protect free speech, children, or history then the nazis cannot attract people by offering an alternative, taking people down the first stair to hell.
What can be done is 3 fold. Strong leadership, action, and community. Preferably not from the neo nazi's.
This is why trump is important and different. Action is visible and results oriented. He's not getting an outright victory, but the deeps are fighting hard so that's not surprising.
He's protecting the rights of his enemies. As much as I'd love to see hilary get Rodger stone'd doing so is not moral leadership and represents a breakdown in the fundamental social contract.
Hes making inroads to bring Americans together, rather than split us into action groups. Again, not an outright victory but better than expected.
I guess that's a good enough point.

Theres more to it. But that's the gist
