They're the kids who were the first "edgy teens", the ones engaging in sexual/cultural revolution in the '60s. I am not surprised that they have been stuck in the same rebellious mode for their entire lives, they are stuck there, they think that was their peak and don't understand why their lives and the society around them sucks so much.
