Every time I watch a movie now about the CIA (where they are portrayed as cool/good guys) I cant help but think it was made just to brainwash me. Crazy or true?

I am 26, it took me 24 years to figure out that agencies like the CIA do a ton of bad stuff. Why did I not know this? Why did it take me investigating on my own? Was i just brainwashed by all the movies, etc?

The CIA has always done the shady stuff but the FBI was always supposed to be the hero. Of course that hasn't played true at all.
