Professional sports are literally the easiest thing to drop from your life. It provides you with absolutely nothing but entertainment (levels of which vary depending on how good your favorite team is anyway). There are so many things to replace it with.
Baseball has occupied my summers since I was a kid. I can't believe how easy the left made it for me to live without it, or any sports for that matter. Not even something I think about, let alone miss. Life too short, too many other opportunities beckon that are far more enriching
The point was to starve us of entertainment until we accepted the stupidity. Simply replace your sports addiction with a real world hobby.
