Need to start boycotting the companies that partner with the NFL as well and let them know that is the reason. Like Subway, their commercials push NFL hard and so do some other companies.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be useful in a subway boycott as their sandwiches are disgusting and I haven’t eaten there in there in over a decade.

Same thing with me and professional sports. Not trying to be all "I was boycotting them before it was cool" but I haven't even SEEN 10 seconds of an NFL game in 5+ years. I haven't purposefully watched a game of any pro sports in... 10+ years.

The only time I "see" professional sports is if there is some sort of pop-up or video on a website.

I DO like other sports like: running, cycling, triathlons, mountain biking, trials riding. But I DO all those things myself (much more slowly.) But if any of those sports went SJW, it wouldn't bother me one bit to not watch some guys in lycra riding their bikes 5 hours a day... lol. [Go Primoz]

I wish more people could break the habit or whatever it is. Instead of paying to watch grown "men" throw a ball around, why don't you all go outside and play ball with your kids? Or if you like football/baseball/basketball so much, go join a league and play? You'll lose weight, get fresh air and will be actually PLAYING the sport you claim to love so much, instead of sitting on your butts, watching millionaires who HATE you play the game.

(Said to no one in particular...)

My ex would go and get the kids that shit. She learned the 2nd or 3rd time not to ask me if I wanted anything. NOPE.

2
jive-ass-turkey 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's why she/he is "ex" isn't it? Trying to poison your children with that shit.

The really sad thing is how little it takes to make a sandwich that is far superior, for the same, or even less money. The more sandwiches you are making the easier it is to save.

People don't keep food in their houses anymore, don't know how to cook or feed themselves, and are at the mercy of sandwich artists with their little processed cheese triangles.

True, but 20% is still a massive decline. Guarantee you the suits are shitting bricks over this.

8
aintgotnotimefothis 8 points ago +8 / -0

That's a 20 percent decline on top of whatever decline they saw last year when they allowed kapernick to take over their organization

8
Chawlns 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes, but these stadiums are usually packed with thousands of fans. If people can't go to games because of COVID restrictions, then those fans should be watching from home. That said, ratings should be higher this year, but they're down. That's a pretty good sign.

5
RabidZoo 5 points ago +5 / -0

They just said something closer to 30% now.

2
jive-ass-turkey 2 points ago +2 / -0

If that ends up being true, then all my dreams are about to come true.

30% off of last year's disappointing numbers is a massive decline.

The NFL forecast higher numbers this year than last year after the lock down, I guarantee you. Those are the real numbers they will be compared against.

Shitting bricks is a huge understatement.

They brought all of this upon themselves. The NFL had been the model of how to deal with this shit, IMO. Let the players act like asses if they want but don't bow to them officially. The numbers showed broad public support for their policy. There was no reason to change it.

They started all of this when they offered a try-out to Kaperdick. They should've known better than to tangle with Mark Geragos. Say what you want about Kaperdick, he has excellent legal representation. The NFL walked right into a trap of their own making, had little to gain, and opened themselves up to a ton of liability.

If it wasn't for Hanlon's Razor I'd think it was all by design. The NFL handled this that badly.

I quit right after the NFL supported using it's platform for political crap after the Kapperknucklehead stunt.

I can only quit once.

The NFL's trajectory has to be terrifying for many owners who are starting to see the writing on the wall. Many organizations thought the covid era would net much larger TV audiences and it's not happening.... Jerry Jones will probably be the first owner to sue the NFL home office for killing the league. The real entertainment will be the panicked NFL in a mad scramble on the back end to try to bring fans and viewers back.

BetaODork 8 points ago +9 / -1

yeah i suspect you'll see a lot of pro america pandering once they realize all this bs isn't doing anything for profits. but never forget. i dont think ill ever be going back to sports. maybe some ufc.

6
7.62swinebuster 6 points ago +6 / -0

100% agree. I expect the players and owners to really start going at one another when owners start adjusting salaries down or bouncing checks because organizational finances have taken such a big hit. I feel the NFL's sense of entitlement will see them first asking for a Fed bail out(like auto makers did) on the grounds that they're an American institution....which also makes 4 more yrs of MAGA the NFL's worst nightmare because DT isn't going to give them sht.

5
aintgotnotimefothis 5 points ago +5 / -0

There will be talks of bankruptcy and then the media will start attacking QBs who refuse to give up their massive salaries to keep the sport going. I expect ESPN to run stories advocating for all white players to take a 50% pay cut. I can't wait!

2
BetaODork 2 points ago +2 / -0

lol yep. american institution my ass. but classic lib mentality. shit on a place/person/country that gives you everything but then when you're in a bind, turn right around and ask that same entity for help.

Did the COWBOYS support the RAPIST or did they back the DRUG DEALER?

2
radioactivedk 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not long ago they WERE the RAPIST and the DRUG DEALER.

VaPnut 6 points ago +6 / -0

I hate the NFL so much I don't even care if Dallas loses anymore.

4
Marshall 4 points ago +5 / -1

I wish I didn't care, but I still get a smile when I hear the Cowboys lose. I used to be a fan until the Tom Landry firing fiasco.

ODonREDPILLS 5 points ago +5 / -0

It’s fantastic knowing the NFL is going to kick their pandering into overdrive since KaperCuck said it’s just for show or whatever. Do your best NFL and good riddance 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼

I wonder if they take into account the people who would normally be in the empty stadiums.

And everything is shut down so there's nothing else to do. Communists are getting flipped the bird big time.

aintgotnotimefothis 3 points ago +3 / -0

The NFL had doubled down. They have decided that the only way forward is to pretend that police officers are murdering black men on account of their skin color. They decided that it was financially unsafe for them to have an honest conversation about race relations. They are now part of the system that is demoralizing young black boys and girls by telling them the lie that people in this country hate them and want to kill and enslave them for their skin color. Then, because the orthodoxy requires it, they glorify violent rapists and cop murderers.

This is a fight for the heart and soul of the country. We must have honest conversations about race and politics.

An how much further will ratings drop when they are able to calculate the group viewing sessions (bars, which are going to be wayyyy down due to Corona restrictions) if anything viewership should have been up a bit since most people are trapped at home.

1
radioactivedk 1 point ago +1 / -0

Down only 20%? Still not down enough.

Maybe because all of the bars and other places that put it on out of habit? Is anyone actually watching? Took my kid to a bowling and arcade entertainment place and noticed the TVs still play this but I did not see people watching directly.

1
NancyPeloci 1 point ago +2 / -1

Context: They haven't counted the West Coast numbers yet and an LA team was playing. I'm hoping it'll still be down but just so people know before they start spreading fake news. Should be updated in the next few hours.

1
TrumpsFavorite 1 point ago +1 / -0

Viewership should be way up with covid keeping everyone at home

Skippious 1 point ago +1 / -0

Two Dallas Cowboys are in a car, who's driving?

The cop!

And we wonder why the NFL is against the police? They've been the National Felons League for decades.
