I had a boss who was a huge hockey fan. He was telling me how well my team was doing, asking me if I was excited.
I replied, "Nice try, they're on strike" He laughed and said,"No! That was last year - your team is in the finals!" They went on to win the championship. Even though I drove by the arena where they played several times each week, I honestly thought they were on strike through the entire regular season.
