Thanks, it's been a very interesting rifle so far. I haven't tried it with the scope yet, but not only is it a bullpup but it's in 7.62 or .308 . On top of that, this Tavor is actually a short stroke gas piston, unlike the others which were long stroke. Not sure how much of a difference it really makes but I just find that even among the other Tavor models, it's different on the inside.
I'm also surprised at how easy it is to take apart.
Sounds like a good purchase. I may have to add one to the collection. I've been looking for a shorty of some type. I was looking at AR pistols. I've always loved bullpup designs though. Probably because of playing counter strike forever ago and loving the bullpup in it. Lol.
Thanks, yeah I saw it was the 7 based on your gas exchange description. Found a few on gunbroker at a discount. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on one.
I was originally saving up for a T36, the American clones of a G36 but the price is just too much, you're paying more for the novelty and I wanted a rifle that is new and different. A bullpup in 7.62 / .308 definitely fit that part for a significantly cheaper price. I also never shot that type of round before. I don't get to mess with guns a whole lot, and wish I could just have a field day trying out all different types of pew pew. I have a small collection but I think I'm pretty much going to stay where I'm at with it now. Kind of hard for me to want more. At least for a while.
Small follow-up to anyone who may care, but I got to finally shoot it with the scope. It's been very satisfying. Also another thing I learned to watch out for. Maybe it's a "well duh" moment but I'm still learning, but when you load the first round in by pulling on the charging handle, let the thing slide back on its own, don't "ride/help" it, easiest way is to pull back the handle, lock it, then release it. After that, you can easily use the bolt release which is behind the magazine.
Also don't shoot it from the left shoulder (when it's configured for right hand), I'm fine, but the brass kissed my chin. It didn't really hurt but it was a big surprise and my shot was terrible anyways.
More than what I should of spent but darn it I fell in love with the optic the moment I saw it. I spent around 1200 for it.
1200 with the optic? I'll take 2.
my mistake. Didn't read that was the maker of the optic.
No, the 1200 was the optic alone.
Nice bullpup. Congrats.

This one is called the Tavor7 to be specific if you're looking to get one, not to be confused with something like the X95.
