What's even closed now?

There are still limits on things like seating in restaurants in many states which is limiting business.

Dude, in Will County, IL they closed dine in restaurants again!!!.

Carry-out or delivery only for the entire county. 5 months after IL "flattened the curve".

Such bullshit on a monumental scale.

I grew up in Will County. I'm grateful for everyday I don't spend there anymore.

IR radiation used in the temperature checks can damage your eyesight. There are now machines that require you to align your eyes within the range of the (invisible) IR radiation.

The temperature checks are an executive branch allowance due to Coronavirus. Trump can end the ability for employers to do the temperature and allow it to be reclassified as a medical procedure protected by privacy laws.

Then what do they use?

IR thermometers do use IR radiation which is why they're pointed close to the forehead and not in the eyes.

Lots of things are still closed. Social security offices have been closed since early March. Indoor dining is still closed in at least NY and CA. People still can't have funerals for their loved ones. Tourism destinations across the country are still closed. Our state fair was cancelled for the first time since World War II. They might sound small/unnecessary to some but people do rely on those things for income.

Unfortunately those things aren't just happening in blue states. We need to reopen the entire country yesterday.

To Pelosi, that just means no waiting. In and out and then back to the bar.

In a lot of areas, the following are still closed/limited: Restaurants, Bars, Concerts, Theaters, Plays, Nightclubs, Festivals, Beaches, Churches..

Also, these are all places people congregate at and go to 1) let off steam/distract from life, and 2) talk about stuff (like politics and MAGA)..

The live music industry is gutted. Might not even come back.

The shitty corporate festivals and mega venues for pop stars will do just fine, it’s the local, small, and mid-tier venues that are dead or dying. As an avid concertgoer, this hurts me a lot. I think this is the first year since my sophomore year of high school that I’ve gone so long without a show.

That's who I'm talking about. To me, 'music industry" covers a lot of ground. I have a family member who's in an orchestra, who's wondering if she'll ever perform again, because her orchestra is hearing rumblings of BK. It took years for her to get a seat in an orchestra as it is. Bars and clubs are a wasteland. I don't go to nearly as many shows as i used to - but I feel you there. Most of the clubs that were left are gone now. Teens and young adults may never get that experience. Theater, same. A guy I went to college with runs/ran a stage lighting design company on Broadway. He's wondering if he'll ever work again, doing that.

There's a little good news - music channels of people playing their own stuff is blowing up on Twitch, because they don't demonetize there like YouTube does. But it's not the same, and it never will be.

Everyone is SO concerned about the big labels and movie studios. Fuck them. They have cash in the bank, they'll still be standing when this is over. Everything else is gutted.

Heavy restrictions and fear mongering are keeping people indoors. Countless others are quarantined and fearful of going out.

I took my dog for a walk in the mountains just now, and at least half of the morons I saw walking down the trails were wearing masks OUTDOORS and nowhere near anybody. It’s unbelievable how effective the media fear porn has been.

Most people are sheep and will gladly follow the orders of the government even if they absurd and corrupt. It's happened time and time again throughout history.

Sheep are gonna sheep. Protect yourself any way you see fit, but anyone falling for the fear mongering has no one to blame but themselves.
