I went to candlelight service at a nearby Methodist church that I don’t attend last year and the pastor managed to make the story of Jesus being born about racists and homosexuality. They also had BLM in their reader bord over the summer. A non-denominational church is being built across from my office and I went to their Facebook page to check them out, first lost was the pastor in a video about racism.
I’ve pretty much given up on church for the time being.

Those three options I listed all offer the Traditional Latin Mass according to the 1962 missal, prior to the atrocities of Vatican II. They will all adhere strictly to Catholic social teachings. As a female over 50, I know it is hard to find that person. My husband died when my son was 15. He's 33 now, I chose to not date or seek relationships because I had seen so many kids whose parent spent so much time dating or bringing other people into their lives that the kids got the tough end of the deal. Now I'm lonely and would like to meet someone but don't know how. I'm a member of the Church of Christ, but there aren't a lot of singles in my age range. I'm not beautiful or hot or anything else that is apparently desirable. I have smarts, a sense of humor and affection to give, but I am happy to stay alone rather than seem desperate. I refuse to settle for less than I deserve, we all should not settle. I'll find ways to help others, serve God and wait. We deserve happiness, don't we?
You sound like a lovely person. I can assure you that there are many men in your age range who would like to meet somebody like you. Church of Christ are small and dying churches, to my knowledge, so perhaps there are other churches around that have get togethers and outings for people your age. They sure don't for people my age (40), but it's always been my experience that church functions have a good number of singles your age, male and female.
I am so sorry that you feel lonely. I fear that for myself but you made the right decision to focus on your son instead of trying to find a man. I know, easier said than done especially at this point. I'll pray for you.

I'm sorry you're lonely, I'm in a similar situation and I know the feeling. However being a christian I think it is important to fight against the notion that we deserve happiness. What we deserve isn't happiness it is hellfire. Jesus gave us what we didn't deserve, and that is salvation through him. His desire for our life isn't that we are happy, it is that we are holy. Concentrate on being holy and living your life according to the bible and how God commanded us to live, and if god puts someone in your life still concentrate on his word and his instructions. I've seen far too many people pursue happiness over holiness and in the end they end up neither happy nor holy.
