PNW can mean a lot, but if you're in/around Portland, might want to look down state a bit; or eastward.

Take a weekend trip to a red county and take in the scene or do an activity you like (biking, hiking, kayaking, running, etc) and look for a local group that is into similar activity. Depending on your age, finding someone with the same/similar interests, but in a red county is worth drive.
