Rationalization is the strongest force in the universe. They'll say it's all part of Russia's plan to get the US out of foreign affairs so they can take over.

(I say so what? Let Russia be the world's police if they want to spend their blood, tears, and GDP on that. Critics are also ignoring our opposition to Iran which are buddies with Russia.)
