Just realize that the President can only fire individuals who are Presidential appointees, not civil service employees. So that means Trump can only fire the top guy & maybe his deputy. I suspect that it's managerial level civil servants who are pushing this & that's going to make this more difficult. Federal HR is notoriously slow & swampy. There are backhanded ways to deactivate federal managers & higher, like promoting them to a new department or location, like in South Dakota, where the person has absolutely no function nor employees & has no authority to do anything. I saw that happen a lot when I worked for the feds. They put these malcontents in a sort of Siberia & abandon them there. That works in a practical kind of way, but they still get paid so it's not perfect.
