I disagree with Gen Flynn on a big one. The terms "radical" or "extreme" are in fact qualifiers that validate islam. Does "radical" Nazi's make sense to anyone? There is absolutely nothing redeeming anywhere in islam. However I do agree with Flynn on the issue of identifying the enemy, so as to strategize against it.
