From what I know about advertising contracts, which is certainly more than most, there is a clause that mandates certain minimum viewership numbers. Drop below those figures and the advertisers are owed additional slots to make up for the shortfall.
This means that the broadcasters can't sell those slots... so even a slightly worse than expected viewership can have serious and spiraling effects on revenue down the line.
If the viewer numbers continue to trend downward, it is going to be ugly. The contracts are renegotiated in 2022, and every bar and pede that tunes out is revenue that is gone. There is nowhere to make up that viewer base.
I believe I remember that the NFLPA union negotiated some bullshit that even if nobody attends, watches, etc that the salary cap won't reduce at least heading into 2021 and maybe even 2022.

Monday night double header, no overt mentions of the BLM nonsense, but again I see ESPN tickers RE NFL bitching at coaches to stay masked up at all times and issuing retarded statements on "racial equality". So it seems the NFL head office is still full on with the BLM shit just as far as the media, who are the true leftists, can megaphone it at every chance they get.
