Late 30s also. Didn't follow politics much until Obama got in office. I was just starting a family and my first child was born in 2008. I watched everything get less affordable and more money come out of my paychecks. I couldn't afford insurance. Then I had to pay to not have it, sinking me even further. I kept losing jobs because places were laying off half the company and I was always at the bottom of the totem pole. I woke up and started paying attention because the Obama presidency was destroying me financially. Trump was a godsend!
