Wait wait wait

You're saying if we arrest the criminals then crime goes down?

I need to get my thinking hat on for this, it's advanced stuff

If they were watching them they picked up on who the leaders are.

Scoop the lieutenants and some sargents and squeeze like hell.

You know. Basic cop stuff not politics.

Amazing right?

They can be arrested all day but if they're released with no consequences, thats when they just go out and riot more. Simple: give them hard prison time with no bail. Fixed

De Blasio actually had the guts to say that releasing criminals make the streets safer.

Democrats are criminals, representing criminals.

Having a lackey DA in Lancaster, PA isn't something Soros is funding at least for now.

Oh, no, pede. That's exactly what he's doing - or groups like his. The DA in Rochester ran and won against one last year. Soros was supporting DA races big and small. The DA in Lancaster ran against a Real Justice backed candidate. Google Real Justice.

I watched police in La Mesa, California "hold the line" while a few blocks away I watched people light buildings on fire at their leisure. They could have prevented every fire if they had been ordered to do so. Criminal.

Then we formed a group in Santee to make sure that shit didn’t fly and nothing happened. It really just goes to show what happens when we take a stand.

Plus if these idiots bail them out, they will be able to cover the cost of the property damage with funds left over to defend the city.

This tells us what we’ve known all along: The leftist governors and mayors have/were enabling the rioting, looting, and general communist thuggery. What fucking scumbags they are.

5
Brucesky420 5 points ago +5 / -0

Meanwhile, how many days of riots in Portland now? It's gotta be over 100 at the point

4
MouthAgapeForBLMJizz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep. And they’re idiot Mayor has just recently forbid the police from using tear gas. Under any circumstances.

Fucking unreal.

Forget jail, throw them out of a helicopter over shark infested waters. Oh yeah, take Soros on that ride too.

33
CisSiberianOrchestra [S] 33 points ago +34 / -1

At least two of the rioters arrested were in possession of firearms. Those people will likely be spending the next few years in prison.

14
RabidZoo 14 points ago +14 / -0

One of the local news sites was trying to blame the violence on "white nationalists". That's funny considering they're surrounded by white people that love their country. Constantly trying to blame the right for their crimes.

9
Chick-fill-eh 9 points ago +9 / -0

What a waste of money.

6
Furaffinitydotnet 6 points ago +6 / -0

I kind of doubt it. Seems like weapons charges don't matter anymore.

Weapons charges should only be considered if used to facilitate the crime. Constitutional Carry and unrestricted NFA guns for everyone.

Maybe give a monetary or tax write off to the people who hold registered machine guns. A lot of those licenses are held as investments.

Their goal is to make policing impossible

24
WishdoctorsSong 24 points ago +24 / -0

Worse than that. Their goal is to drive the good cops out to replace them with their own people. The police aren't going anywhere in leftist territories, they'll just be refilled with Antifa, only now in uniform with the backing of their city government.

incogneato 11 points ago +11 / -0

The theory is that most people who are arrested will show up for their hearings, regardless of whether bail is set or not. Setting bail, which usually requires the person accused to forfeit 10% of the amount, is essentially like a fine against someone who hasn't been convicted, forcing the accused to pay the fine or suffer consequences like losing their job. (No employer likes it when their employee can't come into work this week because they were arrested.) Therefore in general it serves society to maximize the number of people RoR.

Some companies did put together AIs to try to figure out who is likely to show up at court and not re-offend, but many of these jurisdictions put a stop to that because it was "racist".

It is a nice thought, but it's getting abused where career criminals commit a crime, get released, and commit another crime. Failing to use data driven methods, and instead making decisions with the intersectional math of 2+2=5 is why we can't have nice things.

4
Quietam_Unum 4 points ago +4 / -0

Setting bail, [snip] is essentially like a fine against someone who hasn't been convicted,

Setting bail is a guarantee on the bail-payer's part that they will appear. If they fail to show for their court date the bail is forfeit.

So, no, it is not a fine against someone who hasn't been convicted.

3
MarcusAurelius 3 points ago +3 / -0

The issue is that many people make use of bail bond companies due to lack of savings. Of course, if you have sufficient resources, you can use that in lieu spending a ton of money getting a loan from a bail bond company.

Still, my point stands is that even for things that start off as a good idea, somehow progressives still manage to fuck it up.

9
KeepingAmericaGreat 9 points ago +9 / -0

And due to extremely high recidivism with these guys, the crime stats are going to explode (if reported accurately).

Democrat mayor and governor, and they actually did things correctly. I wonder if the word is out that it's time to shut down Antifa? The DA is Republican, which means the prosecution should be taken seriously.

17
WishdoctorsSong 17 points ago +17 / -0

Midwest Democrats are a very different breed than left coast Dems. The Portland kind is full blown marxist revolutions. In the midwest you still have the vestiges of the blue collar union Democrats who haven't figured out their party now wants them dead.

7
MakeAmericaGreat9 7 points ago +7 / -0

They can't afford to have a swing state like PA go sideways.

8
fskfsk 8 points ago +8 / -0

I heard they also prosecuted the people who were harassing restaurant diners in Pittsburgh.

PA is definitely a swing state. There are lots of scenarios where PA is the deciding state.

7
MakeAmericaGreat9 7 points ago +7 / -0

I am from Pittsburgh and didn't even know it happened until an hour ago when I read it here.

There is no way they will allow riots here being a swing state and Bidens home state.

19
FUSnowflake 19 points ago +19 / -0

Incidentally, not a Constitutional violation against excessive bail, for those who have been shown to have traveled across state lines to riot.

8
fadingecho 8 points ago +8 / -0

I watched my old home town's conservative police force handle some of this shit. They tolerated a protest or two. Then when the protests started to get a little out of hand, they enacted swift, targeted arrests and suddenly the protests stopped.

They knew who to go after and ignored protesters to grab specific ones. NO doubt arrests were targeted.

Isn't Lancaster Amish country?

4
Cloudy_mood 4 points ago +4 / -0

Lancaster is a large area- Lancaster County is all Amish. But even in the Lancaster area you will find some people related to Amish.

I grew up outside of Philly, and I used to go to Lancaster all the time. It’s absolutely beautiful and as far as I know pretty peaceful. It’s the last place I’d ever think terrorists would be bussed in, but I love that they were met with this force, and reaction.

2
BasedMaleNurse 2 points ago +2 / -0

I live in Lancaster. Yes, it's definitely Amish country depending on the area, but the Amish still make up a small percentage of the total population. As Cloudy said, there are lots of people living here who are descended from Amish which left the church. I have quite a few friends whose grandparents were Amish

6
booblitchutz 6 points ago +6 / -0

Interesting, typically blmantifa is very careful about where they riot, making sure there is a friendly DA and Judges that wont do this.

I wonder what exactly broke down here?

6
jealousminarchist 6 points ago +6 / -0

I don't get the whole "bail value debacle". There is no need to set bail for preventive detention. Those people are known agitators and solidary responsible for all the unrest and damages wrought on the country. Preventive detention is more than warranted at this point.

5
TheTombsNightShift 5 points ago +5 / -0

If you haven't already, go watch the All Gas No Brakes footage on YT at some of these "protests." Really gives you some insight into the type of cucks we have participating in this shit.

As someone from PA I'm proud of the way they handled this situation in Lancaster. Almost as if police and local govt works together stuff gets done and the public is safe. Contrary to what blue cities are doing.

2
TGNX 2 points ago +2 / -0

Weird. So, if police do their jobs, then we don't have violent riots?

2
philandy 2 points ago +2 / -0

BLM, Antifa, and leadership in the same sentence!? Sorry I'm having too much trouble believing that.

2
Sleazy_1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Burn Loot Murder AntiFaggots are only emboldened because of those bitch boy lefty cities. They're not a strong force to be reckoned with, they only haven't met real opposition because the minute you put a nice hole in a dudes chest for trying to cave your skull in with a skateboard, you're facing prison time and they're back on the streets by morning with no repercussions. Its because the police and city officials have made this an unfair fight for law abiding people attempting to maintain a job while keeping their business and themselves safe.

Glad that Lancaster has a man on the bench. But this was a fluke.
