I mean, they give the medal of freedom to authors, actors, artists, and musicians. It's just an "atta boy" from the president. I think the Medal of Valor is more "valuable" in terms of the heroism it takes to deserve it.
Yep. We had lots of E6 and above get bronze and silver stars, NONE with V device for Valor. We just laughed at them for getting the Army Participation Award. They did NOTHING to deserve the awards, they just showed up.
Same with lower enlisted with ARCOMs and MSMs. The medals mean nothing if everyone gets one.
