I believe this is to “soften the blow” for when the officers are inevitably cleared and not charged with murder. Many in LMPD “expect a war” once announcements are made” and “fully expect mass rioting”.
Hopefully the mayor and governor will look at Lancaster and see how fast they shut shit down and follow suite.
