In this way, the de facto single party states force the result they want for their electoral college votes. So much for winning CA and NV. Trump would probably win both if the vote was honeslty counted, and US eligible citizens only.

No WAY can everyone mass mail back IN their votes and have them all securely and accurately sig matched, with fair and secure sig correction procedures - this is a method to crash the system, force super long delays, which will mean lawsuits when attorneys challenge the sig refusals, on and on - it forces a SCOTUS election result. Except SCOTUS may not even participate, which will mean more chaos, and a byzantine and not-clear ruleset we have never even tried out before
