Cashier at the self checkout at one of our grocery stores does this and uses a passable tray to look at IDs. When I first layed eyes on her I burst into a riotous cackle. She knew I was laughing at her because I made eye contact when doing so.
Had a similar run-in with a cashier (she seemed a bit slow) when I walked up I asked if she was getting ready to do a little welding ...don’t think she comprehended the humor
