Fresh water? If clear water and fresh use a white or yellow spinner bait, if stained to murky, a black or blue spinner bait. Throw and reel in ,medium speed. Throw the structure like trees and rocks along the shore

live bait is always great. minnows on a bobber. but i love spinner baits for large mouth. pretty fool proof too

get some spilt shot weights too and a minnow bucket with a rope u can tie to it some u can set it in the water and keep bait alive
