Never been to Philly but I’ve had both a Pats and Genos sandwich. A coworker’s friend bought a bunch for our team at the stands and over night shipped them to us on dry ice. After eating those I can’t find anything that even comes close. All the bars around here barely have a cheap knock off.

Pats and Genos are both mediocre at best. Typical tourist food. Dalessandro's or Jim's blow them out of the water.
But if you are in Philly and want a real sandwich go for the roast pork instead.
