Back in the day with Ron Paul, they cheated him out of the RNC, the DNC did the same to the other "non-establishment cronies".
Of course the establishment wants to keep libertarians out of debates and elections, libertarians want to get rid of a huge amount of the retarted bureaucracy....so, it's a matter of job security for the establishment.
That being said, the only two people i have ever voted for were Ron Paul and Trump. Both relatively free from the deep state and able to make decisions based on logic, vice the people filling their pockets or threatening to blackmale.
