She's not running as a Republican. She's running for Senate against Mitch McConnell. All of her campaign commercials so far are basically, "I'm not Mitch McConnell."

She also lost a house race in 2018 in a district that contains Lexington. If she couldn't win that race, she doesn't have much of a chance in a statewide election. She's also completely unlikable.
