Nobody was entering his home. Castle doctrine law does not pertain. The crowd was certainly being intimidating though. Justified use of lethal force is if you fear for your life or severe bodily injury. Anyone that doesn't is an idiot.

Of course had he opened fire he would have been arrested too. Might've had a better defense though.
