Neighbors are overrated. I had the choice 15yrs ago a nice house in town or a shack on 115acres. I chose the land and built the house.

Almost everywhere you go there is undeveloped land for sale. You might have to commute for work.

That's not realistic for some people. Living in the burbs here, it's a 45-60 minute commute into the city for work door to door. Even further if you want to live in a quieter, somewhat rural area. It's just not feasible unless you can find another job, and a lot of city jobs are hard to find or don't exist in more suburban/rural areas.

I know it's not realistic for everyone but if you ever get the chance buy land. That way it will always be there for your heirs.
