I'm in one now... never again. It's the fucking worst.

The idea is to keep property values high but it always devolves into a handful of pricks turning their neighbors in over shit that would never effect property values because they're old, or bitchy, or miserable, or dont like your political views, etc...

So while it should be about making sure windows aren't broke and your roof isnt rotting it's actually about how tall the plants on your porch can be or how far you are from your dogs in their own back yard.

HOAs are total shit... I cant belive this is legal
