They put themselves in debt for the rest of their lives to be taught meaningless gobbledygook, and on some level, they know it and are absolutely enraged by it, but they can't acknowledge it.
They can never repay the debt. Most of them will never have meaningful employment. They are ignoramuses who borrowed $100,000+ for worthless pieces of paper that will never do anything real for them, and which they point to to claim status as intellectuals, but they know they were robbed of both liberal education and job training.
I was talking with a lefty coworker of mine, and they were kind of complaining how they just spent a lot of money to have an electrician do work on their house. I happen to ask what they had done. Turns out they were doing some painting, which they also paid someone to do, and wanted to replace the ivory colored outlets with white outlets.
For sane people, that would have been a simple trip to the hardware store to buy the appropriate number of outlets and face plates, shut off the power and do a simple wire for wire replacement, but they had an electrician because they were “scared”. Meanwhile they have mountains of college debt said they have no clue how to repay, while the electrician can probably make it easy 60 grand a year if not more doing work for idiots like that.
Haha, so ridiculous. Nowadays they don't even have to read a book to learn how to do it. All they have to do is watch a fucking YouTube video. But no, they are too lazy and worthless to even try.
I love stories like these. The electrician probably just told them he needed to kill the power to replace box covers so he got extra money for pointless work.
If that's the case, he's either a bad electrician or a liar, neither of which I condone.
I’ve said it before, but it’s no longer the have and have nots. It’s the do and do nots.
No reason you can’t live comfortably with a little smarts and money saving. And that’s these fools main problem.
Surely there are millions making more than enough to live a good life, but they want the frivolous shit. New car, new phone, 4-5 streaming services, eat out/getting overpriced coffee everyday, paying others to do their manual work like mowing, changing oil, etc., taking vacations, smoking weed and just being dumb with their time and money.
If you just do the basics and learn a few skills you’ll be ok in this country.
I grew up in a household with a father who can't fix anything (to be fair, he's a great Dad and he's handicapped so) and thus I never had that hands on training as a kid.
Well as an adult I learned that there are things called books. There's also YouTube or even tutorials at Home Depot and shit. Now I'm the handyman for them and routinely get calls from my parents to replace stuff.
Admittedly cars are an area I mostly don't want to delve into. I'll change my filters myself (something I did see my father doing) but I've changed oil enough to know it's worth it to me to pay someone else to do so. Specialization of labor and all that.
But yeah, I get a lot of pride and happiness when my daughter tells people that "Daddy can fix anything." Well, maybe not anything but I have fixed the shower and mended her clothes and replaced outlets and stuff like that.
You've highlighted something that's very real - sadly it crosses political boundaries. The current generation of 20-somethings grew up with computers, video games, and cell phones. Other than sports, their entire existence has revolved around electronic devices. Most of these folks are literally incapable of interacting with the physical world. They can't find a screwdriver, much less use one without stripping the screw head. If there's a plumbing leak, they don't look for the valve to shut it off, they look at their phones. It's really very sad. 40 years from now, plumbers will be able to charge anything they want.
I think we're more in agreement than you think we are.
I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in English. There is nothing more useless on this earth. But I am here to tell you, it gets better.
We are all, even those of us who found a way around the system and, by doing so, beat the system; and especially these pieces of shit in the OP's photo, victims of the educational/economic system.
You got the same shitty deal they did. But you handled it better by, I'm guessing by being more honest with yourself about it.
No, man. Have you forgotten the college campuses which are like seminaries of leftism these days? They are smart and educated - in the wrong way, which makes them more dangerous.
Universities certainly are seminaries of leftism. But the graduates they produce have been formed by standards so dumbed down that it doesn't matter whether they are "smart" or not. And they have never been educated, from kindergarten on. Their lives are so distorted they couldn't even form a coherent idea of what being educated would mean.
I feel like your description of today's graduates is much more accurate of the 60s radicals who are responsible for the degradation of educational standards and the perversion of minds we are now having to contend with.
Well I guess "smart and educated" is how they are perceived by society, like "smart kids go to college". It's a stereotype that most people have, including HRs in big companies who only hire college graduates. In their mind, a college degree is your credential for the job, the proof of your qualification, even if that job doesn't require any knowledge from college at all or it's totally irrelevant to your major.
And they're fucking stupid and uneducated.

Leftists do not and cannot build. They can only destroy the work (sometimes centuries-long or millennia-long) that others have done to build.

Absolutely. To paraphrase Ayn Rand, it's the looters and the moochers versus the producers.

This, and on some level they have to succeed because there is no going back.
These losers banked their entire future on UBI. If the government isn't there to support them, they die.
They know this and they are terrified, which is why they are willing to fight to the death.

With much respect, you're mistaken.

Savvy perspective here
"taught" - good one
