Who is John Galt?

Ayn Rand is a plagiarist and narcissist. "Who is Henry Galt?" is the line featured in The Driver.

Most likely an homage. Definitely not plagiarism. It’s a story about a railroad and capitalism.

The Driver is a story about a railroad and capitalism. Rand shamelessly copied it.

What a book. Without the 50 page radio broadcast, it would hands down be the best book I have ever read. But since it's there, The Fountainhead wins.

Do not agree, I see Atlas Shrugged as the aggregate with a love story

Lots of NYers have gone to Texas.

I just hope that doesn’t put the state in play.

That’s me. Vote red and in all local elections. Don’t wear the mask. And just got a 30.07 sign taken down at the local school parking lot. I came here to fight. NY is a lost cause. I’m hoping the rest are like me. I notice TX conservatives tend to be more moderate than the ones in NY

I'm in Ohio. I can't tell you how many NY license plates I've seen.

Our drunk driving plates are yellow. NY plates are yellow with blue at the top. They stand out.

I came back a few weeks ago. I work with folks I always figured on the more moderate end of NYC liberals, but the comments since we've met a few times have a hint of redpill after seeing what Bill deCuck and Cuomo have done. NYC will still be staunchly blue, but people are fed the fuck up.

When they say half, it is all of them, but half haven’t been able to sell their property.

Diblasio is part of a group that is buying up a lot of the property since it is being sold on the cheap, if they bring in a Rudy type mayor next and NYC rebounds, they will make billions. I think New York may be truly dead forever though, since they forced everyone to telecommute and now businesses know they can survive without having to pay for that ridiculously expensive office space.

My company had 11 floors rented throughout Manhattan, with the work from home showing that work can get done and save the company money...

We have decided not to renew 10 of the 11 leases and only have 1 office which will act as like a We Work environment. Only the top execs are required to be in the office 3+ days a week while everyone else is expected to be there at least 5 calendar days a month, but if you moved out of the tri-state area our corporate HQ said you can still WFH.

Curious if you still have to come into the office for those 5 calendar days if you move out of the area. That would get old quick

2
FuckRedditWithADildo 2 points ago +2 / -0

If people moved out of the tri-state area they don't have to be in the office at all, but I don't think they'd be kept long term IMO. Just because some in person collab is needed for my type of work.

Gotcha, thanks for replying. Trying to keep my job but get the hell away from the city I live near, so if there’s precedent we might be able to push for that. We don’t require in person collaboration really which is good... we shall see!

Retiring early, and moving on, so I Sold my home a couple of weeks ago.

Rural suburban Indianapolis. Sold in TWO days, at 10% over list, to a young professional originally from The area, desperate to get his family out of New York City.

The movement is real. You can see it in home sales in Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and the Northern Gulf coast of Florida, and you can especially see it in the private jet traffic.

all they need is a Bloomberg terminal and an internet connection. Why the hell would they say in a place that is hostile to successful people? Liberals literally think the only reason someone is successful is because they made someone else unsuccessful.

insane how fast the libs blew that city up

But it’ll bring the housing and rental prices down!

What state does John Galt live in? (Hint: not NY or CA)

2
puppetmaster3 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Answer?

2
RatioInvictus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry; it was meant as a rhetorical variation on "Who is John Galt?" but I suppose there are states with a preponderance of John Galt.
