The force continuum states that force should be one level higher than the suspect is using. A knife is deadly force, and should have been answered with a gun first, not a taser.
These riots have the cops so scared (understandably) of wrecking their lives, that they are not doing their job properly. How many extra stabs did the victim receive because the tased first?
It hasn't helped that over the summer the CT Leg had a emergency session for CCPVirus related issues, but instead rammed a "police accountability" thru as a emergency measure meaning no committee hearings, no public testimony, etc. that is only beneficial to ambulance chasing lawyer types.
Then our tone deaf Gov., after throwing them under the bus and getting a nearly unanimous "no confidence" by the state trooper union come out and tries to praise them as good officers/troopers who bravely serve, etc. and this will make their job easier.
