That was my initial concern too when I was a Cruz fan early during the primaries. Didn't take long to support though and T_D was a big factor. Joined right around when volume IV of can't stump was posted.
In 2016 I was a life long Democrat, Bernie or Bust - type.
So when it turned out he was kicked to the curb, AND Side of Beef had something to do with it, (on top of emails, Donna Brazil, Bengahzi) I thought to myself "Oh, yeah? Well, how about NO !?"
Single best decision I made, and could never express how amazing it's been to be abord the Trump train since the early days. Absolutely loved every second of it and glad to add another 4 more years.
To me, it was the red dinner speech that convinced me was was really not fucking around, he was out to destroy the Clinton machine.
I was still not sure how he was going to do politically in the more run of the mill things presidents do, but he was out to win and that was good enough for me.
Like they say, respect is earned and he had to work so hard, surrounded by snakes and charlatans, and still kept his agenda on the rails. I can't imagine how it would be if he didn't have to weed out all the snakes and two faces, but he just keeps going and has delivered beyond my expectations.
I'll admit I was unsure about Trump, but definitely wanted crooked to lose. It was going to be one of those two to win it. I didn't stay up to watch the results, but woke up at ~4:00am and the first thing I did was fire up TD.chyna to see how America's future looked.
After 30 minutes or so of laughing my ass off at all our frens celebrating the victory, I blasted this while showering and getting my day started.
I'm from Canada but I had a strong feeling he would win. The distrust of the government system was palpable and I knew people were ready to shake it up big time. Started paying attention tion to your politics after I seen Pelosi rip up the greatest SOTU of all time. Cant believe what the slaver dems are trying to do to your country, and how great a leader Trump has been. He runs laps around these swamp creatures
It’s astonishing to me how so many people are so blinded by pure hatred and propoganda that they can’t see the big picture, which is; Trump is quite possibly the Greatest American President of all time (or at least top 5).
I was jaded and sick to death of politics. It had gotten to the point where it didn't matter whether you voted for Democrats or Republicans, you were still going to get globalist socialism in the form of more government programs, bureaucracy, and overreach along with more taxes to pay for it all. With the Republicans maybe just a little more slowly than the Democrats, but socialism was the result just the same. (And I honestly don’t believe socialism works in the US due to the make-up of our populace.) They were almost all in bed with each other, the whole of US politics seeming like an elaborately staged Kabuki theater with smug politicians wink-winking each other and you-scratch-my-back-i'll-scratch-yours dealings to further the governmental expansion agenda. Then came Trump, a true laissez-faire capitalist and outsider. Here is a guy who knows how to make things happen and what's important to the bottom line outside of politics. I voted for him to help get the country productive again. I thought his promise to "drain the swamp" of DC was intriguing, but just the fact that politicians hated him so intensely was honestly enough to encourage my vote. I love that he trolls the Pelosi's and Romney's of DC. You could say I voted for him just because he's an ANTI-POLITICIAN who loves his country.
Same here. Great observation. I thought I knew what the swamp was. I had no fucking idea how real, powerful, and corrupt it really is, and how far they would go to gain political advantage. Like, they’re killers. Total disregard for the law or the well being of any of the citizens. They are much more dangerous to your average citizen than almost any supposedly “bad” country.
Absolutely. Not only killers, mass killers. I don’t think anyone of us truly knew what kind of evil we’re up against. We ALL know now.
They’ve long used their media machine to make us worry about tyrants a world away, while the whole time they are 1000x more dangerous to us right here at home.
He has gone above and beyond anyone's expectations, he actually built a wall, he stopped wars, he brings troops back, he fixes the economy, he strikes deals and PEACE DEALS
The man is a machine, he is relentless.
He fucking told Farma the US needs to get the best prices, the balls on the man, he didn't even need to microwave them. Fucking up MS13, child traffickers and everyone in between
He did what Obama promised to do
Trump will not go down in history as A president, but as THE PRESIDENT
I know that feeling. In fact my happiness at his winning paled in comparison to my relief that Hillary had lost. However, my faith in him grew as the months rolled on. Any doubt regarding his heart and honour was completely extinguished when he announced in July 2017 that the government would no longer continue the previous administration's support of the so-called moderate rebels in Syria. Interestingly, no more than 6 months later, ISIS had lost over 90% of previously-held territory.
I actually voted for Jill Stein in 2016. Almost all of my beliefs have shifted dramatically since then. I did prefer Trump to Hillary but still believed most of the stuff they say about him.
I think the establishment has no idea how many people who either voted third party or wrote in Bernie are going to turn around and support Trump this time. (Let's be real the number who voted third party is way higher than the official counts showed)
Yep, I honestly thought he was all bark and no bite. Just a brash loudmouth New Yorker trying to throw his ego around.
My, how I was wrong :) There are still parts of him that I don't fully relate to, but I've learned to give him the benefit of doubt.
For example, do I sometimes think it's "odd" how mechanical and distant he seems toward Melania? Yeah. Because I'm deliberately NOT that way toward my spouse and daughters.
But the more I see him, read him, listen to him, etc the more I come to realize he's just wired very different from myself in many ways, and that's okay.
Now, many of his quirks are things I absolutely love and embrace full bore. Because they show that he's HUMAN and REAL. Not putting up a phony act. And who knows? Maybe some of his behaviors and beliefs are hard-fought truths in his life? He definitely seems like someone who has found a way to put up what for 99.9% of others would be an insurmountable level of stress and work load.
So who cares if he drinks water in the weirdest manner I've ever seen? Am I really going to judge someone for something so exterior and shallow? Plus, it's really hard to remember at times that the dude is near his mid 70's. Of course he's gonna have some weird things here and there! :)
In agreement here. I was hopeful but didn't actually expect him to just bull his way through and keep going the way he has. Best president in my lifetime and I cannot wait to vote again. To semi quote Barack's husband, "for the first time in my life I am proud to vote for a president"
I supported what I thought was the Molotov cocktail into the bullshit that was the RINO/Democrat uni-party. I never thought I’d have the luxury of supporting the best president since Teddy.
I had my doubts. I bent the knee reluctantly. I'm glad I did though. After watching the left go completely insane and the DC swamp conspire to overturn an election, I knew I made the right choice.
Same. I thought he would be the perfect person to push people to vote for a third party candidate or a non-traditional candidate. A majority of our leaders are lawyers which is a problem for me.
After McCain and Romney I didn't think I could ever support a Republican candidate and probably wouldn't vote again. Hopefully Trump can start his own party.
Career politicians (Dems and RINOs), MSM, corporations , Globalists, celebrities and soccer moms hate him. I hate all them and he had lots of support from regular working class people. So it was hard to like Trump. Seeing him at one of his events put me over the top. He had been to a few places before that day and it was running an hour behind and it was already late but no one minded. There were a dozen Karen’s protesting outside and people didn’t go beat them up or anything despite them calling everybody racists. Seemed like I was on the good side.
Same
I told people I was waiting for him to lurch left
That was my initial concern too when I was a Cruz fan early during the primaries. Didn't take long to support though and T_D was a big factor. Joined right around when volume IV of can't stump was posted.
Trump was saying things that republicans and democrats used to say. Trump was a better version of ron paul.
the democrats hate him. republicans hate him. the media turned on him. interesting!
whether or not he could accomplish anything was to be seen. but, he was the ONLY choice, if voting were to mean anything at all anymore.
That was my main factor, seeing how much the old establishment hated him.
I was like: "Trump? Really? Is He the best we can do? Alright.. I guess.. better than Hillary."
Right!? This is my take on it now...
<mind blown meme>
I stopped voting after 2008... and here we are!
I was rooting him because I hated Hillary. But I didn't vote for him. Wasn't planning to vote at all before 2020.
Now, there's no way I'm not going in person to vote for him
I had high hopes for him...and he has exceeded them in every way.
To me, it was the red dinner speech that convinced me was was really not fucking around, he was out to destroy the Clinton machine.

Hear, Hear..
My man

I laughed too, and the joy!

WWG1WGA!

I'm Canadian but I kind of wanted Trump to win just for the memes and because fuck Hillary.
But I'll be damned, he's doing FAR more than I ever expected and kept pretty much every promise he made during his campaign.
Come on in, Patriot from up North, the water is fine..
Tbh I didnt know how bad things were until after Trump got elected.
To see various people, institutions and govt agencies all hate on him has been an eye opener.
To find that organizations I thought were apolitical go fully woke was quite the shocker.
His presidency has been like taking a red pill - once ingested, you can't go back

Brilliant expose..
I didn’t even vote for trump I went third party. I was 18 and a little more left leaning at the time, but I’m sure as hell voting for him this year
I know that feeling. In fact my happiness at his winning paled in comparison to my relief that Hillary had lost. However, my faith in him grew as the months rolled on. I feel ya bro. I was a Bernie Bro in 2016. Started supporting Trump out of spite.
Yep. Bernie would have beaten Trump in '16; not now though..
Hear, hear! I'll toast a glass of water to that in Trump's honor :)
Yep, I honestly thought he was all bark and no bite. Just a brash loudmouth New Yorker trying to throw his ego around.

Isabella is still my favorite. Trump top five though.
Amen. I thought it was a publicity stunt, and that he was a secret Democrat. I still voted Trump. Thank God I did.
yeah, i had my hopes but at the very least i figured he would be the disruption we all needed to see in politics.
In agreement here. I was hopeful but didn't actually expect him to just bull his way through and keep going the way he has. Best president in my lifetime and I cannot wait to vote again. To semi quote Barack's husband, "for the first time in my life I am proud to vote for a president"
I voted for the stick of dynamite with the middle finger to the establishment painted on the side.
Not disappointed in the least.
Right?
My thing was he was a hand grenade we were tossing into Washington, sometimes you need to break a thing before you can fix it
Then he brings world peace

Another here. I wasn’t on “the Trump train” or anything, I just voting against Hillary. I don’t know if I actually wanted him as a President or not.
If I’d known then what I know now, I’d have gone to the polls wearing a MAGA hat and Trump flag like a cape.
I just thought it would be more entertaining

Well, I hope you're Happy (hands on hips) I AM!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted him to deliver on the Supreme Court
NO ONE EXPECTS THE MAGA INSURRECTION
