I teach HS band, which is a very liberally dominated field. A lot of instructors are liberal, and there are very few conservatives. I've never had any issues, being the only conservative sometimes on staff, but many others have. Someone this week created a Facebook group called "Conservatives in the Marching Arts" and already it has been attacked and demeaned and all of the members insulted. And the group is just people sharing notes about their political experiences involved in the activity. But I've seen liberals saying oh it's just a bunch of racist sexist pedophiles, we need to get rid of the group, all of these people need to be outed and never hired again to teach anywhere.

So it's just like this. You create your own community separate from everyone else, and they still don't like that. It's crazy.
