Just wanted to share this fucked up thing I realized at my job. I recently started cooking at a pizza place while waiting for trade school to open back up. There is this middle aged white lady who reminds me a lot of my mom. She is just a driver, pretty much the same as a cook, but has been there for 4 fucking years.
Meanwhile a middle eastern muslim girl who started there 4 months ago (moved here 3 years ago), is already manager because the other managers are middle eastern also. The other lady has been working here longer than the middle eastern girl has been in the fucking country and shes already making more than her.
It upsets me that a woman who reminds me of my mom is making the same scrap cash I am while I'm in school. Thats all.

I am actually ok with this. Most times it is a cultural thing. Which is also why I am against diversity hires. Small business is like family and we tend to trust people that share our values.

Same thing in bigger companies. The HR department goes diversity and inclusion, or H1B, and then "meritocracy" becomes a bad thing.
It started with the political correctness push in the 90's, I think. Not supposed to cause offense, was leveraged over time into not allowed to object at all. Making situations like this public is going to work toward undoing that, hopefully.

I've noticed a trend at restaurants. If you see a mostly female crew: there's a woman in charge. Mostly black crew: black person in charge. Whites, i notice, are the ones who usually integrate their places of business.
Bear in mind, young, attractive white women are in every business, because of the wanna-bone factor.
Good on you OP for getting a trade and screw commiefornia. Depending on what trade your moving into you'll probably see less of this crap as most trade jobs are skill dependent, especially if you choose to go into business for yourself, word travels fast in these circles
This is going on in all industries though, its highly rampant in high tech. They hire their own under the diversity blanket. The Indians specifically do this to keep the caste system BS in place. Little over a year ago applied for a different role in my company went through can't recall 5 or 6 interviews , standard is 3. Passed all except last one with flying colors, some dumb Indian coder out there in commiefornia starts asking me all this deep level stuff about java. I replied I haven't done anything in java for years I would need to look it up, I'm a C guy and the role is specifically for C. He said with a mouth full of marbles in broken English, "don't have example for C and asked to do technical interview to measure skills." He stopped it right there and gave shitty feedback, the prick.
These assholes know exactly what they are doing, however they keep it up reality gonna hit them fast sooner or later, these companies will eventually fall. Blocking the Visa's for this scum is a step in the right direction.
