I am one of 10 (9th of 10) it becomes about trust and consequences, once a kid hits a certain age (roughly 8-9) they are expected to follow the rote rules and the oldest kids are like veterans that are expected to help the the greenhorns stay in line. My older brother was responsible for all the younger kids brushing teeth at night and one of my older sisters was in charge of making sure everyone was up in the morning and got dressed for school on time. It was chaos but I loved it.

this is how you raise good citizens. Teaching caring and responsibly from a young age
