Speed cameras are a step toward the surveillance state, and are there solely for city revenue with nothing to do with safety. I get what your saying but you shouldn’t have to ever live in fear of the government photographing you wherever you go for essentially no reason at all.

I esp love it when they lament when it affects minorities more. It's BS. If you know Big Brother might be around and dont want to or are not able to pay, don't speed. It's literally that simple
I remember in Hawaii they tried those speed camera vans years ago, you would hear on the radio on the drive home..

"FM 100 Break Brake Check" and then they would tell you where the "Talivans" were parked. They eventually got rid of them.
I've also heard that in some states speed cameras were ruled illegal because they were ran by contractors and it was illegal for anyone other than certified law enforcement officers to write traffic citations.
