Biden has an inbuilt excuse for his lack of campaigning and tiny crowds. "Were being responsible and doing social distancing. Orange men shouldn't be campaigning!" It's bullshit. He'd struggle to fill a school gym at the best of times.
I think its simply due to the fact that Trump events are fun while Biden is still doing lame boring ass old "political rallies" like its still 2008. That stuff obviously worked for Obama, but times have changed and those things were already outdated.
They have this like right on the line feeling of serious and "fun" and ends up being neither. Like on one hand, they clearly want to make people feel like they are part of some historical event, and the speeches they hear are really "inspiring" like they are listening to FDR giving his "we have nothing to fear but fear itself" speech, but on the other hand they dont want to be too stuffy and pretentious so they roll their sleeves up or wear blue jeans to appeal to middle america and play some rock or pop song to fire people up. Its just so corny and appeals to no one. Trump ironically dresses way better, never does the rolled up sleeve thing, and never pretends to be a middle American guy, hes VERY up front with the fact that hes this asshole rich New Yorker, but has fun with it.
To be honest...I wouldn’t even say “he has nothing” on them. I think there’s a legitimate argument for him to be similar. He’s literally making peace in the Middle East and that’s just a regular Monday to him

Things are also just different now, which is why I think Trump can be argued to be up there. From a pure accomplishment standpoint, let alone talking about deepstate/anti globalism shenanigans. He’s built for this.
