anyway, because I resisted her with objectivity and was resolute that we follow the params of our project - she turned in the project without my name on it and tried to get me failed out of the class - I yelled at her in front of the entire class when the teacher brought it up a few days later. "You can't do that to people - what scum bag maneuver" - I'm sure if that went down today I'd be expelled for being a racist.

They use statistics too; but they're either historic statistics presented in a misleading way or projections that don't come true.
I think more conservative leaning people reference statistics, and more liberal leaning people just use predictive models and think they are real stats.
On that note, my go-to website for weather radar just had a big makeover. Now instead of watching the historic rain movement, it plays projected rain movement by default. And it's almost always wrong.
