The Republican candidate for and office in Travis County is usually a sacrificial lamb...maybe this time it will be different. Snowball meets hell is sadly the most likely outcome.
If I'm not mistaken, he called out Abbott on the mask order, so I'm inclined to agree. Ken Paxton is also a strong contender in my mind, but I need to look into both of them a bit more.

Yeah, I’m disappointed in him for that. My county was getting some really janky data from the state and we could have opted out once they corrected the data. After pushing from our county judge, they finally provided us more accurate data.

if Austin defunds their police force, Gov Abbott & AG Paxton have said the state will take over local law enforcement there. So Austin ain't lost yet! Then it only becomes a matter of time before we see the local DA and ADAs and Mayor-city counsel frog-marched out of office there. Texas will not play nice with these stinking socialist for too much longer!
