I've lost all respect for our Police I used to always defend them, had family who were cops. Now I see them as the security force of the far left insurrection. Maybe I'll change my mind back if they start to do their fucking job.
Definitely the transients and low lifes ruining it for the rest of us.
Library when I was a kid made you go to the desk and sign in to get a bathroom key because druggies and hookers had been using them for their escapades. Also, the thievery was so out of control they only put empty boxes of media out in a small back room filled with cameras and then they were filled at the check out desk. Even popular and new books were in a locked case.
I moved to an upper middle class area and the library system is one of the best things about it. Clean, safe, and well stocked. They even put out free coffee and cookies.
Wow. Completely different from my experience with our little local library. Totally safe and cozy. I spent hours there as a kid. Rode my bike or walked there and hung out all day!
Police station is in the same building and right next to library. I'd be trespassed in less than 5 min if I didn't comply. I haven't been back since they recently reopened (sort of - limited hours and rules like OP).
Just yell black lives matter and punch a passerby. He'll leave you alone.
Punch him... He'll probably kneel.
I wish this was not true, but we have seen 100s of videos of this happening.

What kind of library needs a cop? Yikes!
Or shoot up in the bathrooms
Porque no los dos?
I prefer the candy aisle at Wawa.
My suburban privilege is showing! lol

Lt. Bookman of the NYPL was definitely needed...
"Yeah, 1971. That was my first year on the job. Bad year for libraries.
Bad year for America. Hippies burning library cards, Abby Hoffman
telling everybody to steal books. I don't judge a man by the length of
his hair or the kind of music he listens to. Rock was never my bag. But
you put on a pair of shoes when you walk into the New York Public
Library, fella.
Well, let me tell you something, funny boy. Y'know that little stamp,
the one that says "New York Public Library"? Well that may not mean
anything to you, but that means a lot to me. One whole hell of a lot.
Sure, go ahead, laugh if you want to. I've seen your type before:
Flashy, making the scene, flaunting convention. Yeah, I know what you're
thinking. What's this guy making such a big stink about old library
books? Well, let me give you a hint, junior. Maybe we can live without
libraries, people like you and me. Maybe. Sure, we're too old to change
the world, but what about that kid, sitting down, opening a book, right
now, in a branch at the local library and finding drawings of pee-pees
and wee-wees on the Cat in the Hat and the Five Chinese Brothers?
Doesn't HE deserve better? Look. If you think this is about overdue
fines and missing books, you'd better think again. This is about that
kid's right to read a book without getting his mind warped! Or: maybe
that turns you on, Seinfeld; maybe that's how y'get your kicks. You and
your good-time buddies. Well I got a flash for ya, joy-boy: Party time
is over. Y'got seven days, Seinfeld. That is one week!"
This is great.

Got it! That's too bad. I am sure you just want to return a book, not have a medical exam!
Libraries where the "urban element" is thick.
If you dress like Antifa, the cop will leave you alone.
around here they hired only black people to be the "mask security"
seems more like a sick joke tbh
At least it created a few more jobs...
