Those things will give a wide range of temperature readings depending on the COLOR of the object that is being measured. It’s called emissivity and most those temp guns usually don’t have a way to change the default setting.
I missed out on a pretty good job opportunity a couple months ago because one of those things said I was running a 101 fever after they made us sit in our cars for two hours waiting for them to let us in one by one. I don’t have air conditioning. Of course, I didn’t actually have a fever when I measured my temp at home.
