Yesterday evening, I was pulled over. I KNEW I wasn’t speeding because I was coming up on a toll that’s a total speed trap, and there were several cop cars waiting to pull people over. I recently moved from a different state, and was pulled over for a traffic law that wouldn’t necessarily apply everywhere. I gave the cop my license and registration, I rolled down the back window when the officer asked me to (I understood this was for his safety because my windows are tinted), I didn’t talk to him like he was a piece of shit, I didn’t reach for a weapon or make him feel like he was in danger at any point. I also don’t have any warrants out for my arrest for any reason because I’m not a criminal, and -CRAZY STORY- I wasn’t pepper sprayed, tazed, shot, beaten, or arrested. Guy let me off with a warning because I’m from out of state. It’s almost like, if you’re just respectful to the police, don’t make them feel like you’re going to hurt them, and don’t have anything to hide, they’re regular people behind the uniform who won’t just beat or kill you for no reason🤔

Yeah- pissed me off they asked for my wife’s ID. There was absolutely no reason for it except to run her information to see if she had a warrant or anything. But- neither of us had anything to hide, and I figured the cop would just give us a warning if I did whatever. That’s the bad side of the story...feeling like I was choosing between not getting a ticket and/or saying “No. You have no reason to need my wife’s ID.”
