I don't understand why some states are doing this. What's their motivation? I'm in Hawaii and we currently have the strictest restrictions in the country. Our economy depends on tourism so we're pretty fucked.

The only issue Trump is vulnerable is covid. They made it as bad as possible to hurt his election chances.

But Hawaii is only worth 4 electoral votes and is very left. Doesn't make sense to ruin the economy just for 4 votes.
