I watched the entire thing hoping to see the mom get capped or arrested for interfering with an investigation. She's the same one that would get out of her car and start screaming at cops if she got pulled over. She's showing her kid how to get shot by a cop. She's showing her kid how to escalate a situation to the point where a nervous, smaller woman cop might fear for her life. If she were alone and the idiot family made a quick move it could have gone south really fast.
