My friend, well, he was my friend (long story, but irrelevant), was a socialist who wanted to give more power to government. That was an underlying theme in his logic or nearly all his logic ended up leading to the conclusion of more government power.
I always felt he had so much freedom he didn’t know what to do with it. Its as if he wanted to give up his freedom so the government could tell him what to do.
Some people just can't handle the responsibility of their own lives. They want someone else to make the hard decisions for them. It's pure laziness, self pity, and lack of impulse control. It's really pathetic.
From a young age, you're told what to do, what to think, how to act...
When you fail, you're harshly punished. When someone is able to parrot the teacher, they are incredibly rewarded. Success is easy - just remember what you're told.
There is no psychological safety net to fail. People don't want to fail, they want a plan. They want someone to tell them what to do. They want easy success.
But success isn't easy a lot of the time.
Fuck me man, it's the schools. People need to learn to fail. Look at all the mental illness and anxiety. Its because they can't hardly handle being human, let alone failure.
It's not even a choice. Humans have to be responsible for our own lives, and make our own decisions. Embracing this was right at the heart of what made this Country great in the first place.

No this shit develops well before they’re 2 years old. The educational system caters to it. And I’m not saying it’s not their fault.
